The Most Common Holiday Stains, as well as Some Tips on How to Remove Them

One of the aspects of the holiday season that we look forward to the most is, of course, the delicious food. And while we all like whetting our appetites, it’s not something any of us especially enjoys when our favorite holiday attire gets stained by the food. The good news is that even the most tenacious holiday stains on fabric can be removed, and clothes can be saved even if it has been stained. In this article, we’ll take a more in-depth look at how to remove three of the most typical stains that occur over the holiday season: chocolate, red wine, and blood.

Three Common stains are extremely common over the holiday season. Here’s how to get rid of them.

Grease
Do not believe that you need to throw away any of the clothes that were impacted, whether you need to clean the kitchen aprons or some errant grease splashed into your clothes while you were preparing Christmas dinner. You can clean any of the clothes that were damaged. As soon as you discover that a garment has become stained with grease, soak it in a pre-treatment product. After that, work some heavy-duty detergent into the stain, and finally, put the garments in the washing machine. After the cycle of the washing machine is finished, check to see if the stain has been gone before drying the item. In that case, you will need to repeat the technique described above and possibly even consider adding a cleaning solvent. If you dry an item of clothing before the stain has been completely cleaned, the stain will become embedded in the fabric of the item.

Chocolate
We all enjoy eating chocolate over the winter holidays, which may be one of the reasons why so many people make the decision to start exercising and eating healthier in the new year. However, if chocolate gets on our clothes, it might be difficult to get out of the fabric. But there’s no need to panic because it can be eliminated. To begin removing stains from the article of clothing, soak it overnight in a solution containing soap, detergent, and vinegar. This will help break up the stain and remove it more easily. If this is the case, a regular wash cycle should be more than adequate for completely eliminating the remaining portion of the stain.

Red Wine
Red wine spills are no laughing matter, and you need to act quickly if you want to save any clothing that the wine has ruined, regardless of whether you are at a business party or just having a glass to top off another enjoyable holiday evening. To begin, blot the stain as soon as possible with a cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the stain as you can. The next step is to grab some salt from your kitchen and sprinkle it over the affected region of your clothing. After allowing the salt to sit for around 15 minutes, you should then vacuum it up. To wrap things up, give your garments a good wash in some warm water with some detergent.
